Fire and smoke damage restoration in Wollongong

After a fire in Wollongong

Wollongong houses on the escarpment and shops on the flat take smoke differently. Wind drives smoke into roof spaces. A unit near the beach and a house at Dapto should not be cleaned with the same assumption about drying time. Call with the suburb and what the fire brigade used to put the fire out, because the water is part of the damage.

Fire Restoration works with homes and businesses across Australia, including Wollongong. Call 0435 118 851 once the fire brigade has said the property is safe to enter. Tell us the suburb, whether anyone is still out of the building, and whether the damage is smoke, charring, or water from putting the fire out.

What we clean

• Soot on walls, ceilings, glass and contents, without smearing it further.
• Smoke odour in soft furnishings, cupboards and roof spaces.
• An inventory of what can be cleaned and what cannot, so an insurance claim has a list rather than a guess.
• Water left by firefighting, which is part of most structure fires and needs drying as well as smoke cleaning.

We do not publish a promise that a technician is a fixed number of minutes away. Attendance depends on the address and what the job needs. The phone call is how that gets arranged.

Questions

Should I start cleaning before you arrive?

No. Wiping soot spreads it. Take photos if it is safe, keep the power off if the brigade told you to, and call.

Does this cover a business as well as a house?

Yes. Shops, offices, clubs, factories and homes. Say which one it is so the right equipment is discussed.

Do you only work in Wollongong?

No. Wollongong is one of the cities we cover. The full list is on the locations page.
