This is not legal advice and it is not a promise about what an insurer will pay. It is the list that makes a fire claim easier to explain: what burned, what got wet, what only smells of smoke, and what cannot be restored.

Write it down before anyone cleans

We can build that inventory on site. Restorable means it can be cleaned or repaired back to use. Not restorable means it is burned through, unsafe, or so contaminated that cleaning will not make it usable. Sentimental value is yours to decide. Condition is what we record.

What does not help the claim

Wiping soot, throwing damaged items away with no photo, and painting before the soot is off. Each of those removes the evidence of what the fire did. Take photos, then call.

Phone 0435 118 851 with the suburb. We work across Australia and we will say what the next visit needs. Read what to do after a house fire if you are still in the first day.

Questions

Do you deal with the insurer for me?

We help you record the damage and we provide a list of the work. We do not replace your insurer, your assessor, or a lawyer.

Should I wait for the assessor before anyone attends?

Ask your insurer what they require. Wet rooms and loose soot get worse while people wait. A phone call to us does not stop you calling them the same day.
